We were the generation that drank from garden hoses, rode bikes until the streetlights came on, and learned that “because I said so” wasn’t the start of a debate.

Now?

Apparently I’m supposed to care about lumbar support, compression socks, and why someone touched the thermostat.

Somewhere along the way I became the guy who says:

“Who left every light on?”

“Do you know how much groceries cost?”

“Don’t throw that away… I might need it.”

And yes… I still listen to the same music because let’s be honest…

The songs didn’t get worse.

We just stopped pretending the new stuff was better.

Gen X wasn’t perfect.
We were just built a little different.
Less complaining.
More figuring it out.
A healthy dose of sarcasm.
And enough life experience to know when something is actually worth fighting over.

Now if you’ll excuse me…
My back made a noise getting up to write this.
